URL Decoder

Turn %20, %3A and other percent-encoding back into readable text, and break a URL into its query parameters.

How to URL decode

  1. Paste the encoded URL or text.
  2. Press Decode URL.
  3. Copy the result, or read the query parameters one by one.
  • %20 becomes a space, %26 becomes &, and %C3%A9 becomes é.
  • To encode instead, use the URL Encoder.

URL Decode: frequently asked questions

How do I decode a URL?

Paste the encoded URL or text and press Decode URL. Percent-encoded characters such as %20 and %3A become a space and a colon again.

Why does the decoded text still have % in it?

The text was probably encoded twice, so %20 became %2520. Decode the result again to get the original.

Why do I get a "malformed" error?

A % must be followed by two hex digits. A lone % (for example "50% off") isn't valid encoding; it should have been written as %25.
