Resize Image: frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to 20 KB or 50 KB?

Choose your image, select File size (KB), enter 20 or 50 and press Resize image. The image is saved at the best quality that fits under that size, and only made smaller in pixels if it has to be.

Will the image still look good?

For most photos, yes. The tool keeps the highest quality that fits your limit. Very small limits like 10 KB on a large, detailed photo may need lower quality or smaller dimensions.

How do I resize to exact pixels without stretching?

Choose Width and height, enter the size and keep "Keep aspect ratio" ticked. The image fits inside that size without being distorted. Untick it to stretch to the exact width and height.

Is 1 KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes?

Sites differ, so the tool keeps your file under the target counting 1 KB as 1,000 bytes. That way it passes either definition.
